Team Seraphine Smashes Fundraising Targets in Aid of Care International

We couldn’t be prouder of our Seraphine team members who took on the Prima Solutions Adventure Charity Challenge last weekend in aid of Care International.

Not only did the Seraphine team complete the grueling day-long charity challenge in good time, but together they raised £2946 for the charity Care – smashing their £2000 target, and earning them the award for the highest fundraising team!

The event took place in the stunning surroundings of Exmoor National Park in Somerset. Teams from all across the fashion industry arrived to idyllic views of rolling hills, lush green forest and gentle babbling brooks; but this was no relaxing countryside ramble… The fashion industry teams had come to complete a marathon distance in a day: 17k on foot, 16k by bike and 9k in a canoe! … (yes we think they’re mad too!)

Check out the video from last year’s event to see the kind of thing they got up to…

The Seraphine team leader, Finance Director John Bailey had this to say:

“It was definitely a challenge to complete the course, but our determination and teamwork kept us going – along with a ready supply of chocolates and biscuits to keep up our energy! We are proud to have been the team to raise the most funds for Care – a charity that works within the fashion sector improving the conditions for the women who work in our industry supply chain. It’s a worthwhile cause and an enjoyable challenge, so Seraphine will be looking to compete again next year.”

The charity Care International supports some of the world’s poorest people, setting up grassroots level projects to help fight poverty. Money raised by last week’s challenge will go towards projects to help poor garment workers, shoe makers and tailors around the world to start to expand their small businesses and work their way out of poverty. As part of the fashion industry, this work is dear to our hearts, and we are so pleased to be able to help.
