The Duchess Wears Seraphine for Her First Event with Meghan

This week Meghan Markle joined Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for their first official engagement as a team of four – The Royal Foundation Forum. We were thrilled to see The Duchess wearing her favourite Seraphine maternity dress for such a historic occasion.

The theme of the first Royal Foundation Forum was ‘Making a Difference Together’, which perfectly sums up the mission of the organisation.

The Royal Foundation was set up by the two Princes back in 2009. It serves as the charitable vehicle through which the young royals support their various causes – from wildlife conservation to the armed forces, young people, mental health and more.

The Duchess of Cambridge joined them after her wedding in 2011, and Meghan will officially become a patron later this spring, after her marriage to Prince Harry.

This week, the Royals brought together all the organisations they work with through their foundation to set out their visions for the future.

The Duchess in particular, highlighted her on-going commitment to tackling mental health issues through every stage of life, starting in childhood.

This dress is a favourite of The Duchess. She also wore it back in January to launch the Heads Together initiative, Mentally Healthy Schools.

Princess Victoria Greets Nobel Prize Winners in a Seraphine Maternity Dress

This week we were delighted to dress Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. The Princess looked stunning in Seraphine as she joined her father, the King of Sweden, to welcome the Nobel Peace Prize Winners to the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

The Princess looked immaculate in our Sophia Navy Pleated Maternity Dress for the official royal occasion. She wore her long hair tied back, and styled the look with blue heels, a matching clutch and a pair of stylish drop earrings.

Victoria isn’t the only royal to love this stylish navy dress; The Duchess of Cambridge wore the same style last year while she was expecting Princess Charlotte.

Princess Victoria has favoured Seraphine maternity clothes throughout her pregnancy, choosing several of our most popular maternity dresses, coats and jackets as well as several styles from the LUXE Collection for official royal occasions. She even commissioned a bespoke Seraphine outfit to wear for her nephew Prince Nicolas’ Christening.

News From New York: Regal Seraphine Style in the City

This week the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge paid a royal visit to New York City, and we were delighted to see the Duchess wearing Seraphine.

New York welcomed the royal couple by lighting up the iconic Empire State Building in red white and blue, and The Duchess greeted New York wearing our Seraphine Marina Maternity Coat. Made in a luxurious wool tweed bouclé, the elegant purple coat was popular with the fashion press and the public alike, and is currently out of stock.

Then on Tuesday The Duchess attended the Creativity is GREAT reception at New York’s NeueHouse, wearing the Seraphine Black Roll Neck Vanessa Dress. The reception was held to celebrate the wealth of British talent in the film, fashion, art and music industries based in NYC; an interest shared by both the Duke & Duchess, having met studying history of art at St Andrews. The Duchess teamed the dress with a stunning hooped Cartier necklace and a graceful curled ponytail, achieving a classic, elegant look. The Black Roll Neck Vanessa Dress worn by The Duchess is currently available for pre-order, and is set to arrive in early January.

New York is one of the true fashion capitals of the world, and there’s no doubt that it’s the place to be right now. We are delighted to have become a part of this stylish city, with our brand new Seraphine maternity store just opened on West Broadway – New York mums have never had it so good when it comes to maternity fashion inspiration.

Royal Baby Number Two – Style Must Haves For Second Time Mamas!

Huge congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who have announced this week that they are expecting their second baby!

It seems like just yesterday that the eyes of the world were fixed on the Lindo Wing doors waiting for news of the royal baby. So we can hardly believe that 1 year old George, already quite the little Prince Charming, is going to be a big brother!

As with last time, the royal couple are likely to keep us guessing as to whether we’ll be getting a new little prince or a little princess, so we’ll just have to wait and see. We think George will make a great big brother, but we’ll be interested to see how he takes to sharing the limelight.

Second pregnancies tend to be a very different experience to the first. This time you are not only sharing this special time with your partner, but also with your older child! Though you may have less time now, in many ways the second pregnancy will be more relaxed as you’ll have a clearer idea of how everything works, and there’ll be no first time jitters to contend with.

The second time around, your bump is likely to show earlier than last time, so the second pregnancy is the time to really embrace your new curves! You will have spent your first pregnancy experimenting with maternity clothes and figuring out which styles work for you, so now you’ll be prepared to make the most of this time. With the knowledge and confidence gained from last time, you can build your maternity wardrobe with confidence and look fabulous through pregnancy!

Style must-haves for second time mums:

Maternity jeans – super stylish, and perfect for running around after your eldest

Maternity dresses – opt for bump-hugging styles to make the most of your new curves

A long cardigan – to keep you cosy and disguise your bump in the early stages

Horizontal stripes – choose striped tops and jumpers to flatter your growing figure

We have no doubt that Kate will sail through this pregnancy with her usual grace and style, and cant’ wait to see how she updates her maternity look the second time around. If you love style watching and trend spotting as much as we do, check out Whatkatewore.com for the latest insider info.
