The Duchess of Cambridge Celebrates Her Birthday

This week Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge celebrated her 35th Birthday, and we thought we’d take the opportunity to look back at some of her best maternity fashion moments…

While expecting Princess Charlotte, the Duchess enjoyed a winter pregnancy and favoured Seraphine maternity coats and winter dresses for carrying out official public appearances.

Our Natasha Cashmere Blend Maternity Coat proved a firm favourite with The Duchess, who wore it out on several occasions, styling it with a matching floral dress. The luxurious blend of soft cashmere and springy virgin wool combined with the sleek elegant cut makes this a truly elegant outerwear option, perfect for everyday wear, or any smart occasion. The Daily Telegraph, Red Magazine and Tatler have all featured the style as one of her best fashion moments!

The Duchess made a stunning impression in our Vanessa Turtleneck Black Maternity Dress on her first official visit to New York. Styling the dress with a statement Cartier necklace, it was the perfect look for meeting and greeting the VIPs of the New York creative arts scene, including Jenna Lyons the CEO of J Crew, often known as the woman who dresses America.

While expecting Prince George, The Duchess’ style was all about keeping cool and comfortable in chic summer maternity dresses. She was due at the height of summer, and had a heatwave to contend with through her final weeks of pregnancy.

Here at Seraphine, we will never forget the moment we first saw those iconic first official pictures with Prince George. Taken by proud new Grandad Michael Middleton on a beautifully sunny day, The Duchess simply glowed in our Fuchsia Knot Front Maternity Dress.

The pictures made headline news across the globe and our little pink maternity dress became an instant style classic – a must-have for every mama’s wardrobe.

The Duchess loved the knotted style so much, she chose the Lavender Blossom Knot Front Maternity Dress for the drive home from the hospital with the new baby Prince.

Kate Middleton is a true style icon and we are honoured that she chose Seraphine maternity clothes through both of her pregnancies.

Princess Victoria Greets Nobel Prize Winners in a Seraphine Maternity Dress

This week we were delighted to dress Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. The Princess looked stunning in Seraphine as she joined her father, the King of Sweden, to welcome the Nobel Peace Prize Winners to the Royal Palace in Stockholm.

The Princess looked immaculate in our Sophia Navy Pleated Maternity Dress for the official royal occasion. She wore her long hair tied back, and styled the look with blue heels, a matching clutch and a pair of stylish drop earrings.

Royal maternity style

Victoria isn’t the only royal to love this stylish navy dress; The Duchess of Cambridge wore the same style last year while she was expecting Princess Charlotte.

Princess Victoria commissioned this stunning outfit personally for the happy royal occasion, having admired our bespoke designs for her sister Princess Madeleine and for the Duchess of Cambridge. We are always delighted to create bespoke pieces for royal clients; Seraphine founder Cecile Reinaud refined the exclusive bespoke design herself, which was then created by our talented team of in-house tailors.

The Princess’ outfit included a striking maternity dress in Seraphine purple, which she accessorised with a smart pillbox hat by top London Milliner, and favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge, Philip Treacy.

The Crown Princess was a picture of elegance on the day, and looked stunning accompanied by her dashing husband and their beautiful little daughter, Princess Estelle.

Victoria isn’t the only Princess we’ve had the pleasure of creating bespoke maternity styles for. Her younger sister Princess Madeleine loved our outerwear collection; she chose our Cropped Peplum Maternity Jacket for her audience with the Pope in Rome, and donned our Blush Wool and Cashmere Maternity Coat to celebrate her father King Carl Gustav’s birthday. She later commissioned a bespoke Seraphine maternity coat to attend a special service before her brother, Prince Carl Philip’s wedding.

And of course The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in a bespoke Seraphine maternity coat on arrival in New York when the Royal couple paid their famed first official visit to the United States.

With Princesses Victoria and Madeleine of Sweden and British royals Zara Phillips and the Duchess of Cambridge all opting for Seraphine maternity clothes through pregnancy, it’s safe to say that Seraphine is a right royal favourite.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden Chooses a Bespoke Seraphine Ensemble

This week we were delighted that Her Royal Highness Princess Madeleine of Sweden chose Seraphine maternity clothes for a very special royal occasion…

Over the weekend the Princess, currently expecting her third baby, attended the prestigious Nobel Prize award ceremony in Stockholm, wearing a bespoke Seraphine maternity gown.

The spectacular one of a kind gown in mauve silk and hand-beaded gold lace was made to measure in London by our team of talented in-house tailors, and the Princess simply glowed in it.

Of course this isn’t the first time that Princess Madeleine has opted for a bespoke Seraphine outfit. Back when she was expecting Prince Nicolas she chose a pristine ivory Seraphine outfit   for the Lysning of her older brother Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist.

The princess looked incredibly glamorous in a champagne lace maternity cocktail dress from our LUXE collection, which she styled with a bespoke ivory maternity coat also by Seraphine, finishing off the outfit with a pair of nude heels and a statement designer hat.

3 generations of Swedish royals were in attendance at the joyful family occasion, including Madeleine’s parents King Carl XVI Gustav & Queen Silvia, as well as her 1 year old daughter Leonore, who was dressed in an adorable matching ivory outfit with a fabulous pair of gold shoes.

Princess Madeleine wore Seraphine maternity clothes on several other occasions throughout her second pregnancy – she loved our LUXE outerwear collection. She chose our Blush Wool & Cashmere Maternity Coat for her father, the King’s official birthday celebrations at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, and opted for our Cropped Peplum Maternity Jacket to meet the Pope.

We’d like to wish Princess Madeleine all the best for the exciting time ahead.
