Diana Award: Prince William & Prince Harry Pay Tribute to Their Mother’s Legacy

Prince William and Prince Harry joined together at the inaugural Diana Award ceremony to pay tribute to their late mother’s legacy and to present The Legacy Award. Read on to find out more about this amazing charity, and the beautiful baby clothes that donate 12% of their price to the cause.

As a great supporter of the charity, Seraphine founder Cecile Reinaud was delighted to attend the inspiring evening held at St James’ Palace.

She said: “I am so proud to support The Diana Award – especially on a night like tonight, when it’s clear to see the amazing good that it encourages and recognizes. We are delighted to donate 12% of all sales of our Diana Collection baby clothes to this amazing cause.”

The Diana Award is the charity set up in memory of Princess Diana, which works to keep her legacy alive by recognizing outstanding young people who are making a difference within their communities.

Prince William made a touching speech on the night, saying:

“This summer marks 20 years since our mother died. She achieved so much in her life. From helping to shatter the stigma around aids, to fighting to ban landmines and supporting the homeless — she touched the lives of millions. The truth is, though, that she was taken at only 36, just slightly older than I am today. But of course, we can never know what our mother would have gone on to do. But in one sense, Harry and I feel that our mother lives on in the countless acts of compassion and bravery that she inspires in others.”

“Our mother once said that if we all play our part in making our children feel valued, the result will be tremendous. This result was tremendous.”

Now is the time to shine a spotlight on this issue, and encourage parents, children & teachers to take action to stop bullying in its tracks. This year’s theme is all about using your power for good. It’s aimed at helping children to understand how powerful their words and actions can be, and teaching them to harness that power for good.

Cecile Reinaud Introduces The Diana Collection at the Global Gift Gala

Séraphine Founder Cécile Reinaud introduces the beautiful new range of Baby wear – The Diana Collection:

I am honoured to have been commissioned by the Diana Award foundation to create this signature baby wear range using the iconic Diana pastel tartan. The Diana Award recognises young people who are working to transform their communities and the lives around them, and works to continue Princess Diana’s legacy. Twelve percent of the sales of every piece in the range will go towards the foundation to raise vital funds for their mentoring and anti-bullying programmes.

The iconic Diana pastel tartan is woven in Scotland, and I wanted to give a modern take on this heritage fabric. I used little touches of the signature tartan against contrasting fabrics so that it stands out even more. This first collection is primarily focused on baby girl clothes because that’s what inspires me most. I am the mum of two boys so I guess I still crave playing dolls with cute baby girl clothes, and designing this range felt exactly like that, it was like child’s play!

Making beautiful baby clothes and giving back to the community at the same time really inspired me and I hope it will inspire you too.

Cecile Reinaud officially launched The Diana Collection at the star studded Global Gift Gala charity auction in London, attended by Hollywood stars including Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham.

The stars were out in full force at the glamorous event; Cecile Reinaud wore a floor sweeping lace gown by Alice & Olivia with a stunning necklace by Theo Fennell, while Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham stole the show in gorgeous floor-length gowns. There was a celebrity guest list a mile long and live performances from world class acts Ronan Keating and Anastacia.

Cecile and the team rubbed shoulders with a seriously glamorous crowd including event organisers Eva Longoria and Victoria Beckham as well as special guest performers Anastasia and Ronan Keating.
