Who’s Been Rocking Seraphine Maternity Jeans?

It seems that the stylish celebrity mums of Hollywood simply can’t get enough of their Seraphine maternity jeans. From casual days out, to stylish press events & rocking it out on the red carpet – Seraphine maternity jeans provide the stars with instant style for every occasion!

Glamorous actresses Jessica Alba and Olivia Wilde both opted for our Grey Luxe Maternity Skinny Jeans for casual outings during their pregnancies. Jessica styled them with an over-sized white blouse, scarf and camel coat for a feminine look in LA. While over in New York, Olivia opted for a black shirt and leather jacket to bring a cool edge to the style. Jupiter Ascending star Mila Kunis rocked another casual denim look while she was expecting baby Wyatt, styling our Premium Over-Bump Straight Leg Maternity Jeans with sneakers, a black tank and grey cardigan.

And the celebs prove that our denim is perfect for more than just casual styling. R&B super star Alicia Keys dressed up our Indigo Slim Leg Under Bump Maternity Jeans with a black top, two tone leather jacket and a gorgeous pair of ankle boots for a stylish press event. And while she was expecting baby Bear, mega star Kate Winslet rocked our Black Slim Leg Maternity Jeans with a stylish black blazer and heels on the red carpet!

So What Makes Seraphine Maternity Jeans so Special?

The long and the short of it is… they fit and flatter exactly like a regular pair of designer jeans!

Our maternity jeans are made in high-performance 4-way-stretch denim, which works hard to sculpt and shape your curves. This means that you get the most flattering fit at every stage of pregnancy and beyond.

You can choose from a range of fits, colours and styles; and instead of a nasty fly button, you can opt for a comfy over-bump or under-bump band, depending on whether you prefer extra support around your middle, or a chic low-rise look.

Julia Bradbury tackles TV shoots, press, premiers & pregnancy!

TV presenter Julia Bradbury is best known for co-presenting BBC’s Country File with Matt Baker. She lives in West London with her partner Gerard and their 3 year old son Zephyr, and she is expecting twins later this year. She reveals her secret to finding stylish maternity clothes while dealing with a full on schedule!

When you’re pregnant you’re meant to avoid high pressure/stressful situations aren’t you? So finishing up a new television series, doing lots of press interviews and moving house are probably not what the Gyn ordered. To add to the story, I have a 3year old little boy, I’m 44 and pregnant with twins. It’s been a full-on few months and this pregnancy has affected me differently; swollen ankles, fatigue and nausea have all decided to come to the party this time round, after a near dreamy first pregnancy. Perhaps it’s my age, perhaps it’s because this bundle is a twin engine; whatever the reasons, I’ve been taking naps when I can, doing lots of breathing exercises and walking (I can’t bend over so yoga is out). My FitBit wrist band really helps keep track of my steps because I genuinely don’t feel like pushing myself, but it’s good to know I’ve passed the 5,000 (approx. 2.5 miles) step mark without too much trouble, although I’d normally aim for at least 10,000 steps a day.

My new series is called the Wonder of Britain and kicked off on ITV1 at 9pm on Tuesday 6th January 2015. It’s a celebration of the elements that make Britain stand out as an iconic island, from magnificent landscapes to incredible buildings. I explore the country on boats, planes and zip wires digging out all the good stories along the way, travelling from the Isle of Skye in Scotland all the way down to the White Cliffs of Dover. Luckily we’d done all the super-active bits of filming (like abseiling down a 500ft inland cliff at Cheddar Gorge) before I fell pregnant but we did have to scrap a helicopter sequence where I got air-lifted off a rock face right at the end of the series and that was probably for the best!

Julia Bradbury in Seraphine

The last month has involved doing lots of press and photo shoots for the show and all I can say is thank Obi-Wan-Kenobi for Serpahine maternity clothes! It’s not easy styling multiple shoots one after the other when you’re packing a bump of this size! On top of that, I’ve had a lot of formal and black tie events to go to… Seraphine saved the day at the Katie Piper Foundation Fund Raiser in December where I spent the evening with the handsome duo Jake Humphreys and Gethin Jones. It was a great night and thanks to the support and attendance of Simon Cowell with all the X-Factor judges (including beautiful Cheryl and striking Mel B) the event raised nearly £250k to help people live with burns and scars. My Seraphine maternity maxi gown was such a success that I cheated and wore it again to the Royal Albert Hall 2 weeks later for the TV Times Christmas with The Stars night, raising money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. I introduced a carol with the delightful Deborah Meaden from Dragon’s Den – I did try and crouch down for a photo (she’s 5’1, I’m 5’ 9”) but I just looked a bit hunched!

Julia Bradbury pregnancy in the press

At the opening night of ONCE, Ronan Keating made his West End stage debut and despite appearing to be a little bit nervous he really smashed it. I remember interviewing BoyZone when they first formed, so it was good to see them again and marvel at Shane Lynch’s enormous beard!  The next day I was up to the top of the Leadenhall Building in the City for more photos for a couple of newspapers. The top floor of one of London’s tallest skyscrapers in mid-winter is not somewhere I’d recommend you hang about but the London skyline looked incredible twinkling away that evening. The building is featured in the first episode of the Wonder of Britain so it was the perfect location to wrap things up for Christmas.  Next up, moving house….

Sunday Times Fast Track 100 – Seraphine are the Ones to Watch!

Have you heard the news?… Seraphine are the ones to watch!

This week, The Sunday Times published the Fast Track 100 list of the fastest growing private companies in the UK, and named Seraphine as the Ones to Watch.

With our new flagship US store just opened in New York, our recent win at the PayPal etail awards, and growing international media attention, the future is looking bright at Seraphine!

Fast Track 100 Seraphine

Started by Sir Richard Branson in 1997, the annual Fast Track 100 league table has become the definitive barometer of private company growth in the UK, and we are delighted to have been chosen to feature in the ones to watch section as one of the companies tipped for future success.

Of course Sir Richard isn’t the only member of the Branson family to rate Seraphine highly – his daughter Holly got there first! Expecting twins early next year, Holly Branson loves Seraphine maternity clothes, and has worn plenty of our styles throughout her pregnancy. She has been a particular fan of our cosy maternity knitwear, wearing our Black Roll Neck Knitted Maternity Jumper, and our Lamb’s Wool & Cashmere Leatherette Nursing Jumper. She also loved our Striped Maternity & Nursing Top, and looked fantastic in our Black Knitted Maternity Cape, styling out a gigantic set of virtual reality headgear!

This year we were one of only a handful of fashion labels to make the cut, and are delighted to be flying the flag for British fashion alongside Victoria Beckham, Missguided and Mint Velvet – a glamorous line-up if ever there was one!

We are proud to have joined the ranks of successful British companies including Net-a-Porter, Innocent, Carphone Warehouse and Hunter Boots, all of which have been featured on this list in the past and have continued on to achieve ever growing success.

Watch this space!

Seraphine LUXE at the Golden Globes – More Than Just Maternity Fashion!

This week, Glamorous new mum and Hollywood celebrity interviewer Red Carpet Roxy lived up to her name, rocking the red carpet at the Golden Globes, and proving that the Seraphine LUXE Collection is much more than just maternity clothes!

Seraphine founder Cecile is spending time in LA over the awards season to meet some of the glamorous celebrities who have worn Seraphine, and Roxy dropped into our showroom with her beautiful new daughter baby Bray, to meet Cecile, and to select a LUXE maternity dress to wear to the awards.

Roxy Manning in Seraphine

Roxy is a big fan of the Seraphine LUXE Collection; she was expecting baby Bray throughout last year’s awards season, and looked utterly gorgeous on the red carpets in several of our maternity dresses, in particular choosing our Blue Silk Maternity Evening Gown to wear at the Oscars!

And now that she’s a new mama, Roxy is still loving Seraphine Luxe! The style she chose this time is our Embellished Grecian Maternity Gown in soft mist grey. A vision in draped chiffon; the gown floated dramatically to the floor, with hand beaded detailing at the shoulders and empire line providing a subtle touch of sparkle. The draped style offers an abundance of gathered chiffon at the front, which creates a beautiful Grecian silhouette for before, during and after pregnancy.

Roxy looked stunning on the red carpet, and the silvery Seraphine gown put her in very good company – some of the most stylish celebrities in attendance were wearing embellished gowns in silver and white! To name just a few: Jennifer Lopez made a big impression in a low cut caped gown by Zuhair Murad, Diane Kruger rocked a figure hugging silver number by Emilia Wickstead, Reese Witherspoon wore a sparkling silver column dress by Calvin Klein, new mum Emily Blunt wore a pure white Grecian gown by Michael Kors, and Julianne Moore looked fantastic in a show-stopping silver & black Givenchy style.

Discover the Hottest New Makeup Trends To Try in 2015

The start of a new year is the perfect time to shake up your makeup, and 2015 is bringing plenty of exciting new trends to try! If you feel like you’re stuck in a makeup rut, check out our round up of the hottest new beauty looks, and the best ways to wear them through pregnancy.

Barely There

Nude makeup

This is the year to say no to caked-on heavy makeup, and to strip back your cosmetics bag to the bare necessities! The SS15 runways saw a huge shift towards minimal makeup styles with concealer-only looks at Proenza Schouler and completely makeup-free faces at Marc Jacobs! This trend is all about keeping things simple, and letting a glowing dewy complexion do the talking for you.

Wear it with:

Neon Pink Striped Cotton Nursing Top
Over Bump Ripped Skinny Maternity Jeans

Purple Haze

Purple makeup

Start wearing purple – This season keep an eye out for sultry shades of plum, lilac and mauve. As seen on the runways at big name shows including Derek Lam, Vera Wang and Matthew Williamson; these high fashion shades work best as a dramatic smokey eye with a paired back look to make eyes of any colour pop!

Wear it with:

Orchid Purple Knot Front Maternity Dress

Classic Red Lips

Red lips

Last year’s lipsticks were muted and minimal, which was nice for a change – but we are pleased to report that this season sees the return of the red lip! In every conceivable shade from soft berry to sultry scarlet and sunset crimson; red is the only way for SS15.

Wear it with:

Black Maternity Shift Dress

Flash of Colour

A flash of colour

The catwalks embraced the pop art makeup look for SS15 with bold flashes of colour across the eyes. As seen at Fendi, Dior and Peter Som; makeup artists created statement looks using strips of coloured leather, satin, stickers and even swipes of lipstick across the eyelids! Now we’re not suggesting that it’s a good idea to glue leather to your face, but a bit of experimentation with coloured eyeliners is sure to liven up your look this year!

Wear it with:

Aqua Contrast Trim Maternity Shift Dress

Pregnancy Style Tips from Absolutely Magazine Editor Helen Baron

Helen Baron is a lifestyle journalist, and editor at Absolutely – London’s local glossy fashion and lifestyle magazine. She and her husband live in Hackney with their miniature schnauzer Django, and are expecting their first baby – a little girl later this year. Helen shares her pregnancy best bits, and how she has fared with styling her bump so far.

1) Describe your style

Classic with an art-school twist.

2) What is your go-to outfit?

Depends on the season. Pre-pregnancy I was quite enjoying wearing skater skirts in different textures with a luxe knit. During pregnancy, I’m thankful for dungarees and loose knit maternity dresses (as it’s winter).

Loose Knitted Maternity Dresses

3) What’s your favourite Seraphine piece and why?

Loving the Seraphine bump kit right now – basic staples which can be mixed and matched and are (importantly) made of comfortable stretch fabrics.

4) Which celebrity style do you admire and why?

I love Binki Shapiro – cool, cute, band-girl style. She always looks relaxed but effortlessly stylish.

5) Do you have any top tips to share with other pregnant mums?

Invest in a Swiss ball so you can continue with core exercises while your back is supported – it will also come in handy for sitting on and encouraging baby into a good position during your third trimester. Style-wise, invest in a well-fitted pair of maternity jeans – they’re invaluable for smart or casual wear; just make sure to get a similar cut to your usual jeans.

6) What have you enjoyed most during pregnancy?

Being able to indulge in so many (pregnancy-safe) homeopathic remedies and massages! Pampering is one thing you needn’t abstain from while pregnant.

7) What’s the best advice you’ve received so far?

To look at natural birth options – I always assumed I’d want a ward birth with as many drugs available to me as possible! I’ve since come to see labour as a natural process – and am far less fearful as a result.

Baby’s 1st Birthday – Get Inspired & Celebrate in Style

Can it really be a year already??? Making it through the first year is a huge mile stone not just for baby, but for the whole family. And what better way to celebrate than by throwing a beautiful first birthday party. Although your little one won’t remember it in the long run, you certainly will – so why not celebrate in style!

To help you plan baby’s birthday, we’ve put together a few of the best bits from around the web to give you a little party planning inspiration:

To Plan

It’s a good idea to restrict the guest list to VIP friends and family, as having too many people around could be potentially overwhelming – you know your little one best, so it’s down to you to judge. The best time to start the fun is right after a nap, and baby’s appearance at the party should ideally last no longer than 2 hours – that way your baby will be fresh, happy and ready to play.

To Decorate

This may be the only time that you’ll get completely free reign on a party theme without opinionated tots calling the shots, so make sure you pick a good one! We found some fantastic theme ideas on Pop Sugar – how about Busy bees, little stars or hopping bunnies? And here’s a little inspiration from Pinterest – we love little princesses, dinosaurs and jungle animals!
Visit our Baby Birthday Pinterest board
To Do

The great thing about a first birthday party, is that the entertainment pretty much takes care of itself – the little ones will be happy playing! Set up a mat or a soft play area in the middle of the floor or the lawn, and arrange seats for guests to relax, chat and supervise the kids – simple and stress-free!

To Eat

Keep the food simple for you and yummy for the kids – we love this fruit rainbow from Fun Finds for Moms. And for the older kids and grown ups, you could go for finger foods and picnic snacks – these can be as simple or as elaborate as you like!

And of course no birthday party would be complete without a birthday cake! If you’re up for a laugh and a lot of mess, why not set up a cake smash! Just make sure to have cameras at the ready to capture the demolition!

Check out Jessie Jane’s vintage ice cream parlor party ideas

To Capture

And speaking of capturing the moment – don’t forget to take plenty of pictures! We love Daily Mom’s list of must-take photos for baby’s first birthday; why not have a little photo shoot to mark the occasion! Whether you hire a professional, ask a friend, or take the pictures yourself; baby will have fun playing dress up, and you will get some gorgeous images to send to the grandparents!

To Wear

Of course baby’s outfit is the most important today, but mommy deserves a party dress too! Browse our gorgeous maternity & nursing dresses online, or for a more formal affair, the maternity cocktail dresses in our LUXE Collection would work perfectly.

However you choose to celebrate, make sure to enjoy this special day with your little one – after all, they only turn 1 once!

Marsala – The colour of 2015 in fashion, beauty & interior design

It’s official – Marsala is the colour of the moment! Taking over from last year’s Radiant Orchid, Marsala has been named Pantone’s colour of 2015. Described as a naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala is said to enrich our minds, bodies and souls… While we can’t really comment on its enriching powers, we can say for certain that it is THE shade to see and be seen in this year!

Set to define design trends for the year to come, the experts at Pantone describe Marsala as a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth.” And it looks like this sultry hue will be seducing in all areas of design this year, from handbags and shoes, to lipsticks, scatter cushions and even wearable technology!

Style your Marsala

When it comes to dressing your bump this year, we have some marvellous marsala maternity dresses to choose from. The red brown roots of the shade complement many skin tones, and makes this shade the perfect way to keep your style fresh and on trend. According to the experts, the impactful, full-bodied qualities of Marsala make for an elegant, grounded statement colour when used on its own – our Maternity Shift Dress is the perfect example – or as a strong accent to many other colours, making it the perfect shade to accessorise with!

Marsala combines dramatically with neutrals including warmer taupes and greys – opt for our Empire Line Pleated Maternity Dress in Marsala and grey to work the look. It also pairs well with amber, umber and golden yellows, as well as greens in both turquoise and teal, and blues in the more vibrant range – as in our Navy & Claret Maternity Wrap Dress.

Marsala at Home

The perfect accent shade in any room of the house; Marsala is a universal tone that works equally well in the kitchen and dining room as it does in the living room or the bedroom. Bringing a rich warmth to the rooms downstairs, and a moody sexiness to the boudoir,  Marsala is the key colour for interior design this year. Whether you take the plunge and opt for a full accent wall in Marsala, or incorporate the shade into your colour scheme with soft furnishings and accessories, it’s the perfect colour to coordinate with any neutral scheme.

Marsala Beauty

Evoking the moody makeup tones of the 90’s, Marsala works beautifully as a bold statement lip, an accent blush or a sexy smokey eye, and if you’re brave enough, even makes a fantastic hair colour! If you’re looking to experiment with this sultry makeup trend, check out Sephora & Pantone’s collaboration Marsala makeup range.

From Rock Stars to Royalty – Everyone Finds their Style at Seraphine!

What do Shakira, Carrie Underwood, The Saturdays’ Una Foden, and The Duchess of Cambridge all have in common? It’s Seraphine of course! All of these super stylish mums-to-be have been recently spotted looking stunning in Seraphine maternity clothes, proving that everyone from rock stars to royalty finds their style at Seraphine.

Rock Star Maternity Style

For all you rock star mums out there, these glamorous mamas-to-be provide the perfect fashion inspiration. Take a leaf out of country singing sensation Carrie Underwood’s style book with one of our  gorgeous bodycon maternity dresses in a daring graphic print – she rocked it with flowing locks and heels for a TV appearance.

If you’re after an even edgier look, our faux-leather leggings loved by Gwen Stefani are a rock star style essential! Former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt styled them with the Seraphine nursing shawl  – managing to look both glamorous and cosy at a London premier. And The Saturdays’ Una Foden teamed them with our Black Sheer Flutter Nursing Top, completing the chic black ensemble with a long line shearling gilet and ankle boots.

And how does an expectant rock star prepare for the cold? It has to be black cashmere, like Shakira who rocked our Black Wool & Cashmere Maternity Coat this December! Talk about rock chic style – these mamas have got it nailed!

The Duchess of Cambridge maternity style

If you aspire for a more regal maternity style, you need look no further than The Duchess of Cambridge herself! The Duchess made headlines the world over in 2013, when she chose the Seraphine Fuchsia Knot Front Maternity Dress for the first official photographs with Prince George. And now well into her second pregnancy, the royal style icon has been opting for Seraphine again. She made her New York debut in the subtly sparkling Seraphine Marina coat, and chose our Roll Neck Vanessa Dress to attend a gala on the official US royal visit back in November.

And last year while expecting her first baby, The Duke’s cousin Zara Phillips chose our Colour Block Silk Maxi Gown to attend one of the most glamorous events on the social calendar – the Boodles Boxing Ball.

So there you have it, whether you’re a rock star or a royal at heart, you are sure to find styles you love at Seraphine.

Fashion Blogger The Style Gallivanter’s Tips for New Mums

Melbourne based blogger and style consultant Miranda is the glamour mama behind one of Australia’s hottest fashion blogs The Style Gallivanter. She is a self confessed fashion addict with a soft spot for bold colours and big hair, and concedes that her extensive collection of international fashion magazines is slowly taking over her house. Miranda is a firm believer that style is the best form of self-expression without having to say a word, and we love her personal mantra: “Go Forth and be Fabulous!”

Style Gallivanter

1) Describe your style in 3 words

Tomboy chic, glam.

2) What is your go-to outfit?

That would have to be a pair of black tights or (stylish) yoga pants with an over-sized shirt and a cropped jacket. It is a comfortable but edgy ensemble, and the girls are easily accessible if you are a breastfeeding mum. The latter of course is always the determining factor now! And accessories too – they have the power to make any outfit come alive.

3) What’s your favourite Seraphine piece and why?

I’d have to say the bodycon dresses. They make one feel very sexy in pregnancy, and are great post-partum. Not only that, but they can easily be teamed up with a great jacket  or top (after baby arrives) to create the illusion of a pencil skirt. How about that for a versatile piece of clothing!

4) Any tips for Holiday Dressing?

Ponchos and capes can effortlessly be dressed up or down, depending on where you are going. Not only that, Seraphine.com has all those gorgeous coats that can be thrown over anything to dress it up in an instant, such as the Seraphine Marina Maternity Coat (which was recently spotted on the Duchess of Cambridge). These are not only great choices in pregnancy, but for breastfeeding mums too. They can hide a whole lot, in terms of all those extra pounds of loveliness we gain in pregnancy.

Style Gallivanter wears Seraphine

5) Which celebrity style do you admire and why?

I love Victoria Beckham’s personal style. She always looks so well put together. I just adore well-constructed clothes with a lot of structure because they make everything look ‘in order’.  They usually have a timeless appeal about them too.

6) Do you have any top tips to share with other pregnant moms?

If you are going to do any maternity shopping, ensure that you buy items that are wearable after you have your baby. Other than that, make a decision to enjoy your pregnancy from day 1. During pregnancy, I told myself that it was going to be one of the best times of my life. And in most cases, the body always follows what the mind declares. Don’t forget to take lots of pictures too – you’ll be glad you did, in the future.

7) What has been your favourite moment during pregnancy so far?

So many favourite moments! But I’d have to say when my baby started kicking and moving around. There is nothing as magical as feeling life from deep within you. And hearing that heartbeat for the first time… man! It changed my outlook on life forever, plus it’s just awesome to walk around with 2 heartbeats in your body – made me feel like a superhero!

8) What’s the best advice your mother gave you?

“Trust the process, especially with things beyond your control”. This came in very handy when I was pregnant because as mothers-to-be, we tend to worry about a lot of things. So, whatever stage of life you may be in, try not to sweat the small stuff – because eventually, all things will work out for your good.
