We are passionate about designing fashionable maternity clothes for the UK market and internationally. Online, in our own London stores or within department stores around the world – we strive to offer the very best customer experience.”

Father’s Day Special #justforlove

They say that a dad is his son’s first hero and his daughter’s first love, and that you never quite know how much you love the father of your children until you see how much he loves them.

This is the month to love him back and celebrate all things dad! With Father’s Day coming up, show how much you and the little ones love the doting daddy in your life by finding or even making the perfect gift! Also, spread the love and upload a cute daddy & baby pic to our online gallery #justforlove. For every picture you add to the gallery, Seraphine donates a dollar to the charity Baby2Baby, helping struggling parents to provide for their children! Do it #Justforlove

The Kids Gift

We love the idea of getting the kids to make something for daddy. He’ll appreciate the effort, and getting crafty together is always a fun way to spend an afternoon. Have a look at this great Pinterest board for all the father’s day themed inspiration you’ll need. And for the really little ones, we think there’s nothing cuter than crafty cards and gifts decorated with baby hand or foot prints!

The Grown Up Gift

Of course when it comes to a grown up gift, buying for men often seems to be a tricky business – there’s only so many times he can pretend to get excited over a new pair of socks or a tie! If you’re in need of a little inspiration, check out these great Father’s Day gift guides:

And if you’re looking for a gift that’s guaranteed to make him laugh, we love Dave Engledow’s hilarious photo book “Confessions of the World’s Best Father.” Check out some of the photos and read this great interview in People Magazine with the man himself.

A Moment of Love

Far more important than the cards and the presents, Father’s Day is all about celebrating the dads in our lives.

So this Father’s Day, show how much you and your children love the doting daddy in your life by posting a picture in our online gallery #justforlove.

Our #justforlove gallery is already bursting with beautiful images of mummies and babies, but in honour of father’s day, we’re looking to add a few more adorable dads into the mix.

Your picture could be a special moment between daddy and daughter, or a candid shot of some sweet father and son bonding, or even a gorgeous snap of you and your man – whatever it is, it has to capture a moment of love.

Watch the Video for a little inspiration:

The best part of all of this is, you’ll be helping families in desperate situations provide the essentials for their children.

For every picture you upload, Seraphine will donate $1 to the charity Baby2Baby!

We give a dollar.

Styling Award Winning Stars – Seraphine at Cannes & the BAFTAs

Making an appearance at two separate red carpet events in just one weekend, our ultra glamorous luxe maternity evening gown is a true international style winner!

Cannes

First, we spotted our gorgeous Navy Silk & Lace Maternity Evening Gown at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, where the lovely Isabelle Cailley simply glowed in it. She was out on the red carpet to support her director husband Thomas Cailley, whose film ‘Fighters’ is up for an award at the festival.

Isabelle looked beautiful in the dress, and though it was Thomas’s day, we can’t help thinking that she outshone her man on the red carpet! The full length gown in pure silk was the perfect choice for the sophisticated glitz and understated glamour of Cannes.

The BAFTAs

Award winner and star of The IT Crowd Katherine Parkinson wowed on stage as she collected her award in one of our most glamorous LUXE maternity dresses!

The expectant mum looked stunning as she picked up the award for best female performance in a comedy programme for her portrayal of Jen Barber in The IT Crowd. As she reached the stage after a quick trot from her place in the audience she couldn’t resist joking – “Sorry that took so long, but there are two of us”!

The dress Katherine wore was our Navy Silk & Lace Maternity Evening Gown – a sumptuous full length gown in pure navy blue silk with an overlaid bodice in intricate black lace. The style suited her perfectly, and she tied the silk sashes at the back to define her empire line, making the most of her blossoming baby bump.  She completed her glamorous look with an elegant up-do, pretty drop earrings and gold bangles.

Katherine and her actor husband Harry Peacock are expecting their second baby later this year – a little brother or sister for their 1 ½ year old daughter Dora.

We are sending huge congratulations to Katherine! With a baby on the way and a BAFTA under her belt, 2014 is shaping up to be quite a year for her, and we are so proud to have dressed her for such a special night!

Watch the big moment and an exclusive interview with Katherine!

Jessica Alba – Baby2Baby Board Member

As a mother, I cannot imagine what it must be like for parents who cannot afford the most basic necessities for their babies. No child, regardless of his/her family’s socio-economic status, should ever be without diapers, food, clothing or hygiene items. Our goal is to help alleviate some of the burden on these families by providing them with these essentials.”

Join Baby2Baby Angels Jessica AlbaDrew Barrymore and Gwen Stefani in supporting this great cause. All the money we raise together will go to the charity Baby2Baby. Based in the US, they work to support families in need, providing them with essential supplies to help raise their children. This money goes to help those families who can’t afford such basic things as nappies, food and clothes for their children, so a moment of love from you will make a big difference to a young life.

Celebs, stylists, Seraphine: The best advice my mother ever gave me

“The only love that I really believe in is a mother’s love for her children.” – Karl Lagerfeld

With mother’s day fast approaching we came across this beautiful article on the Hungry for Change blog on a mother’s influence on the health of her daughter. It got us thinking about how influential our mothers can be in all aspects of our life, and how lessons learned young can stay with us forever.

Your mother is your very first teacher. She teaches you how to tie your shoes, how to clean your teeth and how to brush your hair. She guides your discovery of the world, introducing you to the wonderful things and shielding you from the bad until you are strong enough to handle them. The things you learn from your mother are often things that you carry with you your entire life long. Little pearls of wisdom that lift you when you need a boost, ground you when your head is reeling and guide you when you don’t know which way to turn.

In honour of mother’s day, we have gathered all the motherly advice and tips from celebs, stylists and Seraphine girls, asking the question: What is the best advice your mother ever gave you?

‘This too shall pass’ – it’s a well known saying, but somehow when mum says it, I believe her. Whether we’re talking baby tantrums, work stress or just a bad day, mum puts it all into perspective with these simple words.

Tina Fey

I get my sense of humor from my mom. There are so many quiet times you spend as a mother that aren’t glorified but are a foundation for your kids. No matter what, there was always a thick safety net under this trapeze.

Thea Lewis Yates – Freelance Stylist

On life – Always be kind. It’s the most important thing and how everyone will remember you.

On love – Don’t chase. The right person will appear in due course – the people who are meant to be in your life always find their way there.

On babies – If you’re happy, the likelihood is your baby will be happy too. Take plenty of time to nourish your marriage, friendships and life, and your baby’s happiness will follow suit.

Jessica Alba

She taught me to give a hundred percent, always. Never give up and, if you believe in yourself, anything is possible. We came from a very modest background — nobody was in the entertainment business. I had a dream to be an actress, and every time I would sort of get devastated she would always encourage me.

Alice – Seraphine Copywriter

My mum taught me to find joy in the little things in life, and always to treat others as I would like to be treated.

Charlotte Kewley – Freelance Stylist

My mum taught me… how to run my business! She was a head teacher (now retired) and always worked so hard and was super organised. Watching her inspired me to work hard. She also taught me how to create a spreadsheet! Not so fun, but necessary.

Jennifer Garner

My mom is a hard worker, she puts her head down and she gets it done. And she finds a way to have fun. She always says, ‘Happiness is your own responsibility.’ That’s probably what I quote from her and live by the most. If you have a tough road in front of you, it’s your responsibility to make it as joyful for yourself as you possibly can.

Catherine Hudson – Beauty and Fashion Writer for Prima Baby and Assistant Web Editor at Juniormagazine.co.uk

My mum has always taught me the great value of making my own mistakes. Growing up, I knew I would always be able to take chances and gain valuable independence without any judgement. I felt safe in the knowledge that she was always watching from the sidelines, celebrating my successes and supporting me when things didn’t quite work out. It has made me an open-minded person who will give (almost) anything a go. And I’m strong, like my amazing mum. I’m never usually one for cringe-inducing clichés, but my mum really did give me wings to help me fly – what better gift can a parent give?

Shirin – Seraphine PR

Don’t be afraid to go after what you want, if you don’t ask you don’t get! I wouldn’t have accomplished half of the things I’m proud of without her support.

Audrey Hepburn

‘Manners,’ as my mother would say, ‘don’t forget, are kindnesses. You must always be kind.’ — taken from – How to be Lovely: The Audrey Hepburn Way of Life

Annabel Kerman – Freelance Stylist

That having children doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your own personality in the process, and that families thrive on happy, social parents. Also, it’s entirely possible to keep throwing raucous dinner parties with three children asleep upstairs.

Kate Hudson

Be happy. That’s the best thing you can tell your kids. Be happy — if not get drunk, and then you’ll really be happy!

A post for the men behind the mums – gift ideas for your pregnant superstar

Here at Seraphine, we spend a lot of time focusing on mums – as a maternity fashion label, it’s kind of our job!

But we are sometimes guilty of forgetting the men behind the mums. Those hidden support networks who carry the bags, put up with the mood swings and bring us cups of tea when it hurts to move.

We were recently tweeted by a great guy, after gift ideas for his 8 months pregnant wife who was suffering from back pain.

And it turns out, he is writing a blog about his experience of being an expectant dad! You can check it out at Bloke to be Broke.

We love mummy bloggers, and often feature guest posts from our mummy blogger friends here on our own blog, but a daddy blogger is a whole new concept for us. We had a sneaky browse through Brett’s blog and it makes great reading – it’s really refreshing to get a dad’s point of view on the whole thing!

It turns out that there are doting dads tweeting, posting, writing, pinning and sharing about being a dad all over the web! They even have their own social network – Lifeofdad.com!

Infact, this online community of dads is getting together next week in the US at the Dad 2.0 Summit to discuss the growing power and voice of dads online! You can even follow the conversation on twitter @dad2summit!

Meanwhile, for any other lovely dads-to-be looking for a nice present for a pregnant wife or girlfriend, here are our top 5 gift ideas:

1) ShoeTherapy Ballerina Pumps – to ease her back pain

2) The Ultimate Little Black Maternity Dress – for when she can’t find anything to wear

3) Navy Tote Changing Bag – to organise all her baby paraphernalia

4) Sexy Maternity Lingerie – to let her know she is still hot
