Seraphine brings European maternity styles to LA!

Here at Seraphine we are so excited this week, as our fabulous creative director Cecile is currently touring around the TV studios in sunny LA, giving interviews, appearing on American TV, and generally sharing our gorgeous maternity styles with our friends across the pond!

It seems that the marvellous “moms-to-be” in the US can’t get enough of our chic European flair and our versatile maternity styles – and who can blame them!

We’ve been selling to the US for a while, and Seraphine’s maternity styles have long been a popular choice with Hollywood A-lister Moms-to-be.

To name but a few:

Halle Berry wore our Black Crochet Maternity Tunic Dress (both Long and short sleeved versions) while expecting her Daughter Nala back in 2008

Jessica Alba wore our Brown Floral Print Maternity Maxi Dress and flaunted her bump in our gorgeous Purple and Pink Band Maternity Bikini on her relaxing babymoon during her first pregnancy

Jennifer Garner loved our Black and Sand Long Striped Maternity Jumper

Kate Hudson wore our Black Halter Neck Maternity Swimsuit

Now it seems that the rest of the US are taking a leaf out of the celebrity maternity style book, as we are receiving more interest than ever from the States.

Cecile will be showing off our gorgeous maternity styles on some big name programmes over the next few days – She has already filmed interviews for Entertainment Tonight and E! Entertainment all about Seraphine’s growing success, and will be appearing live on Access Hollywood at the end of the week with 4 fabulous “mommy-models” who will be strutting their stuff on the catwalk, showing off our chic maternity styles!

We cannot wait to see Seraphine all over the US TV, but keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages over the next few days for some behind the scenes action from LA. We’ll be posting pictures and updates as they come in!

The Duchess wears a Seraphine maternity dress in the first family photo!

The Duchess of Cambridge is wearing Seraphine again! This morning, the first official photographs of the young royal family with new baby Prince George has been released, and Kate, cradling baby George in her arms, looks simply radiant in a signature Seraphine knotted front maternity dress! It is a beautiful smiling family shot in the sunshine, taken by proud Granddad Michael Middleton in the garden of the Middleton family home, complete with Lupo and Tilly the family dogs. The Duke and Duchess could not look happier, and it is clear that they have truly enjoyed this special time bonding with their new son.

Until this morning, the young royal family had not been seen in public since mid July, when they spirited their new born son away to Bucklebury, to spend his first few precious weeks in private with family. Regular readers of this blog may remember that the very last time Kate was seen, she was wearing our beautiful blossom maternity dress, and now she is back in Seraphine again for the official photo!

This beautiful fuchsia dress is one of our signature Seraphine knot front maternity dresses, specifically designed to flatter the female form before, during and after pregnancy. The intricate knot detailing focuses attention towards your empire line, and creates gentle gathers in the silky fabric, which drape fluidly over your pregnancy curves or post birth figure. A deep v neckline is incredibly flattering and perfect for new mums, as it provides easy access for breastfeeding. Kate chose a vibrant shade of Fuchsia which perfectly complements her skin tone, but this dress is also available in a fresh coral or regal navy blue.

Here at Seraphine, we are so incredibly proud to be a brand that the Duchess of Cambridge loves and trusts, and we are truly honoured that she chose our beautiful maternity dress for this special family photograph.

Meet Our Competition Winner – Hannah Damary-Thompson!

We had a fantastic time on Saturday when our lovely competition winner paid a visit to our Kensington store to choose pieces for her brand new Seraphine maternity wardrobe! Hannah came down with her partner Lewis to collect her prize after correctly guessing that the new royal arrival would be called George.

This win couldn’t have come at a better time for Hannah, who is five months pregnant with her second baby. The couple don’t know the sex yet, though 5 year old Finn is convinced that he is getting a baby sister.

Hannah’s shopping strategy was to start with the signature Seraphine tote changing bag and to build up a wardrobe around that. After a couple of hours of hardcore shopping, we caught up with her for a quick interview.

1) What made you pick the name George?

I can’t honestly say what made me pick the name George. I just thought that it was a lovely, traditional name that would sound great for the next Prince. I just cannot believe that I picked correctly, it must be pregnancy intuition!

2) How did you feel when you found out that you had won the competition?

I was absolutely thrilled! Appearance has always been very important to me and being totally out of control of my changing body and cut off from my pre-pregnancy wardrobe, I was at my wit’s end. I had only recently discovered Seraphine and instantly fell in love with most of the collection so when I found out that I had won a £1,000 shopping spree I was over the moon!

3) What was your overall experience of the day?

I had such a fantastic day at the Kensington store – everyone was so friendly and helpful. It’s every girl’s dream to be able to walk into a shop and pick out anything without worrying about breaking the bank. The shop is lovely and the staff are wonderful. Even my partner, Lewis, couldn’t moan too much about his 3 hour long ordeal waiting for me to try on practically the entire shop, because even he had a great time in there!

4) What is your favourite new Seraphine piece and why?

I genuinely can’t pick my favourite piece, it’s all so gorgeous and comfortable and great quality! The designers have clearly thought long and hard about the collections because Seraphine manages to deliver on trend styles in a classic and effortless way. The clothes are so versatile, they can be glammed up or dressed down really easily so are perfect for the playground or the board room. I got a lot of dresses in various styles, from shift dresses to maxi’s and all of them are gorgeous!

5) Do you have any big plans for your new wardrobe?

Juggling my  five year old, Finn, running my own recruitment business and being pregnant, my new wardrobe is going to be put well and truly through its paces! We have quite a few parties and weddings coming up so I can’t wait to show off my bump in my new dresses! Is it wrong that I am already planning my outfit for my 20 week scan on Wednesday?!

Winner of the £1000 maternity wardrobe announced!

We have been waiting and waiting to find a winner for our £1000 maternity wardrobe prize, and after 3 weeks of guessing and almost 2000 entrants, the question on everybody’s lips has finally got an answer. It is a boy! And his name is George Alexander Louis!

Officially to be known as: His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge

It has a nice ring to it, don’t you think! George has long been a bookie’s favourite – Ladbrokes had the odds at 5-2. And no wonder – It’s a good solid royal name, the last King George was The Queen’s father and when this little one ascends the throne some time in the distant future he will be King George VII, a fact that we are sure the Queen approves of.

We would like to thank everyone who entered our guess the royal baby name competition, we are so pleased that it has been such a success. But with the name of the future monarch settled, the competition has now come to a close and we have our winner!

Congratulations to Hannah Damary-Thompson who has been chosen at random out of those who correctly guessed the baby’s name. She is now the lucky winner of a brand new maternity wardrobe from Seraphine worth an amazing £1000! Keep an eye on our blog to see what happens when Hannah visits our London boutique and selects her brand new maternity wardrobe!

Have you seen our Seraphine London buses?

Have you seen our beautiful Seraphine London buses? They are out there somewhere, whizzing about between West and Central London bringing our royal baby name competition message to the masses!

We sent them out into London on Monday morning looking fabulous and sporting our beautiful purple banners and the girls in our Kensington boutique have already spotted a couple going by the store!  We think the iconic London bus red is the perfect colour to set off our Seraphine  purple – it is truly a royal colour combination fit for a prince ….or a princess…

So what do you think? Is it a boy?… Is it a girl?…

For now, we’ll just have to wait and see, but in the mean time our guess the royal baby name competition is starting to hot up and we’ve had some inspired suggestions already! Not to worry though, if you haven’t entered our competition yet there is still time! Visit our website and give us your best royal baby name guess. If you guess correctly, you could be in with the chance of winning a £1000 shopping spree at Seraphine!

If you have spotted one of our purple banner London buses, please leave a comment and let us know, or better yet, take a picture and post it on twitter #royalbabyname!

We can’t wait to see your Seraphine London bus pics!

The Duchess of Cambridge wears Seraphine!

We have big news! We are incredibly proud to announce that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge has been spotted out and about wearing one of our beautiful Seraphine dresses!

If we could have picked one woman in Britain today who epitomises the glamour and elegance which we strive for in our collection, the Duchess of Cambridge would absolutely have been at the top of our list, so we are truly thrilled that she has worn our dress! Kate is a true British style icon, and has been leading the way in maternity fashion since the big announcement back in December, so we are hugely honoured to have been a part of her maternity wardrobe.

The Dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge
The Dress worn by the Duchess of Cambridge

The dress she wore is our classic wrap dress with tie in a bold navy and white polka dot pattern. Made of super soft stretch jersey, it is easy to wear and adapts as your bump grows. The mock tie detail is a stylish feature, and the v neck is a classically flattering cut. Kate styled the dress with a bright red cardigan to add a flash of colour, and with her hair swept up away from her face for a modern, casual chic look. We simply love the way this stylish figure hugging day dress flatters the royal baby bump and are over the moon that Kate loves it too.

We are so proud to have gained the royal seal of approval and would like to wish the Duchess of Cambridge all the luck in the world for the next few weeks!
