Made in Chelsea & Maternity Fashion: Binky Felstead Loves Seraphine – Watch the Video

Did you spot Seraphine on Made in Chelsea this week? Model & mama-to-be Binky Felstead is a big fan of Seraphine maternity clothes, and on the show this week she stopped into our Kensington maternity store in London to have a browse!

Accompanied by her mum Jane and good friend and fashion guru Mark Francis, Binky loved our new collection, and even found the perfect maternity coat to wear to the TRIC Awards.

While shopping, Binky also fell in love with our Luxury Nursing Shawl Wrap and picked one up along with a few other bits. Then later that day she posted this stunning picture to Instagram wearing it, teamed with a pair of our maternity jeans to pick up her brand new car.

 

 

Of course this isn’t the first time the stunning mama-to-be has rocked Seraphine maternity clothes. Not long after her pregnancy was announced, she was spotted wearing our Love No 1 maternity sweater and distressed maternity jeans while out shopping with her MIC co-star boyfriend Josh ‘JP’ Patterson. The couple had fun shopping for baby bits, accompanied by Binky’s adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Scrumble.

 

 

Binky is also a big fan of our cosy knitwear, and posted this adorable picture in one of our relaxed maternity jumpers, snuggled up with her sister & daddy-to-be JP.

 

 

Binky and JP are expecting their first baby – a little girl! – later this year and so far we are loving Binky’s style.

Karolina Kurkova Supports Your Right to Breastfeed in Public

Super model Karolina Kurkova took to Instagram this week to stand up for your right to a safe, clean and private place to breastfeed your baby!

She posted a sweet selfie, drawing attention in the comment to the work of US Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth. Tammy has been campaigning to pass a bill that would require US airports to provide a designated space for breastfeeding and pumping mothers.

 

Karolina said:

“As I sit here pumping, I’m thinking of how I’m so proud of US Congresswoman- Tammy Duckworth’s efforts w/ US airports.🙌🏼 She wants to require them to have spaces available for breastfeeding/pumping mothers!! 👏🏼 We need a place where we feel safe and comfortable #breastfeeding in public.”

 

As an international super model, Karolina frequently travels abroad for work and often brings her two sons, six year old Tobin and baby Noah. She has also been an outspoken advocate of the benefits of breastfeeding, even posting her own breastfeeding selfie to encourage and celebrate other mothers who make the choice to breastfeed.

As a frequent flyer and mother of a new baby, this issue is clearly very close to her heart.

 

 

Karolina was a big fan of Seraphine maternity clothes while expecting Noah. She was spotted looking ultra-cool in a pair of our Seamless Maternity Leggings at New York Fashion Week. And she loved our Cropped White Maternity Jeans so much that she wore them to Cindy Crawford’s book launch and even posted a selfie wearing them in bed!

 

 

Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth, proposer of the bill in question, highlights the fact that nursing mothers are all too often pointed in the direction of the bathroom when looking for a private place to feed. She believes that this is unacceptable, saying:

“We would never ask our fellow travelers to eat their meals in bathroom stalls, yet we ask new mothers to feed their children while sitting on a toilet seat.”

We’re with Tammy and Karolina on this one – no mother should be made to feel that she has to breastfeed her baby in a public bathroom.

 

 

Amy Davidson & Ashley Jones: Baby Shower Beautiful in Seraphine

Last weekend The Bold & The Beautiful star Ashley Jones celebrated her baby shower, and not one, but two of the stunning mamas in attendance rocked Seraphine maternity dresses!

Ashley looked beautiful in blue wearing our Ruched Maternity Dress. And her best friend 8 Simple Rules star Amy Davidson, who welcomed her son Lennox Sawyer Lockwood last month, rocked her new mum style in our Graphic Maternity Dress, proving that Seraphine styles are perfect before, during and after pregnancy.

Anne Hathaway & Other Celebs Love Seraphine Maternity Coats

Hollywood A-lister Anne Hathaway seems to be sticking to her style and taking pregnancy in her stride. She looked simply radiant this weekend in one of our wool and cashmere maternity coats!

The star wrapped up her blossoming bump in our chic Two Tone Wool & Cashmere Maternity Coat, and couldn’t stop smiling as she stepped out for a casual New York lunch date with husband Adam Schulman. She styled the look with skinny jeans, black patent loafers, aviator sunglasses and a cool cross-body bag.

Since announcing her pregnancy earlier this autumn, Anne has never looked happier, and is proving quite a Seraphine fan! Helen Skelton on Seraphine Maternity Clothes – “It’s a Whole New World!”

Helen Skelton is a TV presenter, best known for her work on Country File, Holiday Hit Squad, and for her stint as a Blue Peter presenter. She lives in Cheshire with her rugby player husband Richie Myler & their dog Barney (also a former Blue Peter star), and the couple are expecting their first baby in June. Helen shares how discovering Seraphine drastically altered her ideas on maternity clothes.

I swore off maternity wear until I found Seraphine. “Beautiful” and “Natural” pregnancy may well be, but sexy it is not. When I found out I was pregnant, with my hips, boobs and bump expanding by the day and constantly needing a wee I told my husband I would NOT be wearing any maternity gear! “Why?” I asked him “would I want to wear granny bras and huge rib tickling trousers when I feel this unattractive already! That’s only going to make me feel worse!?”

 

Then I caught sight of myself in a shop mirror, my baby bump spilling over the top of my unfastened jeans, my boobs bursting out of my ill fitting bra and my blouse straining over my bust. Not only does this look awful, I felt awful. I spend hours in a car or on a train most days and when you constantly need a wee, tight fitting waistbands aren’t the best.

 

I buckled. I gave into my husband’s nagging and my mum’s “I know best” tone and ordered one pair of Seraphine “over the bump light wash skinny maternity jeans.” I can honestly say it’s a whole new world! They are comfy, they look like normal jeans, I can show off my bump by pairing them with a tight stretchy tee shirt without feeling disproportionately huge. Since then I’ve bought three more pairs in different colours and fabrics. I’ve gone for over the bump each time.

 

Admittedly tops and jumpers are still a bit trial and error, I like things that are fitted enough to show my bump but not too tight to look spray on. My favourite Seraphine jumper is the oatmeal woven back nursing jumper. My friends literally gawped when I said that was a “nursing” jumper. They expected me to say it was from “Sandro” or some other designer store. I joked for about twenty minutes that it came with a breast pump. (It doesn’t).

Of course I was convinced at first I could pour my curves into stretchy evening gowns for do’s and weddings! However I spent an entire evening recently re adjusting my bra to keep my chest in check. There just simply isn’t enough material in a normal evening gown to cover my “double ee” chest at the minute. So I tried on Seraphine’s “lace detail wrap maternity gown” for an awards do recently and I honestly felt amazing. Proud of my bump, confident I wasn’t going to burst out of it and glam.

 

As I have told my husband so many times, for me, clothes aren’t about looking good to other people, they’re about feeling good. Now I have abandoned my prejudice against maternity clothes I am actually comfortable and therefore confident. Priceless when you’re pregnant.

Super Model Doutzen Kroes & BBC Newsreader Kate Silverton in Seraphine!

Over the Easter weekend Dutch super model Doutzen Kroes perfected her poise in a pair of Seraphine Maternity Leggings. The stunning Victoria’s Secret Angel posted this stylish shot taken at her pre-natal ballet class on Instagram over the weekend, singing the praises of her Grey Bamboo Leggings!

Doutzen and her DJ husband Sunnery James already have a three year old son Phyllon Joy Gorré, and are expecting their second child, a daughter later this year.

As a professional lingerie model, Doutzen works hard to maintain her svelte figure, working out 4 times a week and splitting her training between boxing and ballet classes with Natalie Portman’s Black Swan ballet instructor Mary Helen Bowers of Ballet Beautiful.

Then later in the week, BBC journalist and newsreader Kate Silverton was photographed in Hello! Magazine wearing our Black Over Bump Maternity Jeans!

Kate and her husband Mike have suffered fertility problems in the past, but their two year old daughter, Clemency Florence Rose was eventually conceived naturally after 4 unsuccessful rounds of IVF, and they are now expecting their second naturally conceived miracle baby in June!

Kate is pictured in our maternity jeans spending time in the garden with her family before their imminent new arrival. She styled them with a pair of black ballerina pumps, a neutral jacket and Ray bans for a relaxed spring time look.
